Family and Property Agreements
Since 1982, Lynn Hunt has put people at the center of her practice. As a former judge and a skilled family law attorney and counselor, Lynn’s passion is pursuing the most beneficial outcomes for her clients. At the same time, she cares deeply about helping each family move forward into the healthiest relationships possible.
Lynn’s unique understanding of legal issues and her caring approach to emotional issues help her effectively guide clients through divorce and other family law matters. Her expertise with complicated property settlements, including the disposition of closely held businesses, family trusts and other detailed financial matters, helps her clients successfully navigate even the most complex situations. Beyond the very public courtroom, Lynn also offers her clients a more discreet option – the Collaborative Law process – where private family law issues remain private.
Named as one of the Best Women Lawyers in Dallas 2010 by D Magazine and has been named a Texas Super Lawyer from 2010 to the present by Thomson Rueters in Texas Monthly, Lynn served as judge of the 160th Civil District Court in Dallas County and has been honored to chair the family law sections of two prominent Dallas law firms. Lynn has also mentored young attorneys in their family law practices; she writes and speaks on a variety of family law topics, and has taught trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at the Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law.
While attending Southern Methodist University, Lynn earned Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in just three years, graduating cum laude in 1979. She was awarded her juris doctor from SMU in 1982.
On A Personal Note
Lynn is the mother of two, an active member in her downtown church, and has proudly served on the boards of several community organizations.
